I'm no piano player, but listening/watching this video, at 4:00 on,
the key-bed sounds a little louder than I had expected to hear. Is this normal for RH3?

Hi Lou,
I don't speak Japanese, but are you sure it's an RH3 and not a 61?
I only listened on an iPad, but couldn't be sure these sounds weren't part of the sound.

agreed - that's similar to the sound my M3-61 makes when i smack the keys really hard (Kronos uses the same keybed as the M3 61)... and that guy is hittin those keys really hard! but when he plays just a little softer, there's no sound. And those keys look like they have more bounce than a weighted keyboard would. It's so hard to tell just by looking at them

Looking at the space from the bottom of the screen to where the keys start, it is clearly a 73 or 88. (Roughly 2")
The 61 has very little space between the bottom of the screen and the keys.

61

73

I stand corrected, you are right; that's definitely not a 61.
Well, noisy or not, it's nice to see that they have made some at all Smile

I did try out an SV-1 before I ordered my 88, but didn't notice it being noisy. My Yamaha P-80 however, is pretty noisy on key up fwiw.

This does not at all sound encouraging to someone like me considering a 73 version!

The very first thing I would check thoroughly now after receiving a Kronos would be looking for irregular spaces between keys and listening to key noises. I would never accept playing a sloppy keybed, without getting it replaced.

I'm sure the RH3 keys will be very satisfying for a player.
In the past I have had a bad run on keys and choose to skip even the slightest possibility of being disgruntled with a Kronos purchase.
I've reconsidered and am comfortable, going with the 61. (Not because of the video) Wink

My pleasure Lou. Wink

As stated after all experiences reflected in the thread I posted, the most inteligent move would be to try the RH3 before place any preorder, to ensure it suits you.
