there they go with build quality again, the kronos is for generating sounds, musical and otherwise, and at that it kicks some serious ass. |

How long will the data fader last when used intensely?
Have Korg chosen an industrial grade component designed and built to bear 10 years of intense use, or a cheap component that will fail after a few months?

As to the quality, you don't want your instrument to let you down during a gig or a studio session, do you?

Worst case scenario... your data wheel falls off after a few months and rolls into a gutter, or under a shelf with 1000 books on it that you can't possibly move on your own. at least you can use the value slider and data increment +/- buttons to change values.
But i'm sure Korg will send a new one to you. I totally understand your concern. At least it's a component that isn't completely irreplaceable. _________________ Korg Kronos-61, 01/Wfd, SONAR Pro |

Sorry, but with that logic you could simply buy a couple of VST's. They are all about sounds and nothing more.
The kronos is a hardware instrument. It has to be durable, in studio and especially on stage.
Let's not try to defend an instrument with the false and naive logic that it's all about sounds. It is not. How useful is a great sounding guitar, drum or any other instrument if it gets broken? |
