In light of the HD-1's two oscillator voice structure, is Wavestation style four osc vector synthesis possible in the Kronos or Oasys combi mode? |

Very cool. Thanks for the info.
The Combi/Song vector envelope sounds like just the ticket. And if I'm understanding correctly, it's not confined to the HD-1 engine, but rather a mix and match afair? |

Yes, exactly: vector works with all Programs, Combis, and Songs, regardless of engine type. _________________ Dan Phillips

I don't want to get too far off topic but since I use the VJ very heavily for various purposes, I thought I'd share on this thread.
The best application, IMHO, for the VJ for vector synthesis is within the context of a Combi. The Kronos now gives you 16, instead of 8, Programs in a Combi and you have access to all 12 IFX plus the 2 MFX and 2 TFX sections. You can split the combi between different engines and, using the Common tab of the patch, crossfade volume between disparate sound engines!
My personal favorite effect, however, is to use any program with a multi filter (it's not just for the AL-1!) and use the one of the axes to control the "morph" amount of the multi filter and the other axis to control cutoff. Then, using just the VJ and resonance controls really tweak with the sound (I personally prefer A set to LPF and B set to HPF for a nice Morpheus-type sound!).
The bottom line: yes, it's a descendent of the Wavestation and provides all of the same functionality; but, it's also incredibly flexible! So, be creative and let your imagination wander!
Cheers! _________________ - cynkh -
