Thanks for the info ... looks like a very good price! _________________

I wonder if Korg Europe will sell a single unit if importing from the US can save you 600+ €? _________________ www.soundcloud.com/orpheus2006

I just looked at Novas advertised web price for the K88. The price is $3,799 plus $235 shipping to the UK.
Add import duty, VAT etc (excluding exchange rate costs) and it comes to £3,192. I have a better price than that from a UK dealer! |

What does this mean (see link)?
http://www.novamusik.com/profile.aspx
Look for shipping
It states:
5. Nova Musik, LLC does not ship certain manufacturer's overseas. Nova Musik, LLC may cancel or void an order with shipping to an unauthorized country. Lines that do not ship overseas: Korg, Vox and Marshall. _________________

If I assume a $400 discount on advertised price, that makes $3,399 for the K88 plus shipping.
Working on those figures I could save £205 if I imported but this assumes exchange rates are stable (which they are not).
Based on that, I think I'll stay were I am because (to me) that is not worth the possible hassle should a warranty claim arise. |

there was a 200$ discount for pre order, then a store came with a 2599 street price, Nova and SW price matched it |

I got a transformer for the time being. This thing is awesome. I have no issues with the build quality as of yet and the screen and keys are great. _________________ Korg Kronos 61::Kurzweil PC3X::Alesis Fusion 8HD::Korg Microstation::DSI Prophet 08:::Korg Polysix::2X Oberheim Matrix 1000 |

Is it really necessary to use a transformer with an imported Kronos? I was just watching the back of my M3 and there's a sticker "220-240V" on it. How about your Kronos?
I am thinking about importing one to germany, too... |

I am thinking it probably is auto switching despite the 110 label, but I really cannot risk it as I have no warranty once it left the states except through Nova Musik, so I want to be careful to avoid any mishaps if possible. If it can be confirmed by RichF or Dan then I will try it. Otherwise, a transformer it will be. _________________ Korg Kronos 61::Kurzweil PC3X::Alesis Fusion 8HD::Korg Microstation::DSI Prophet 08:::Korg Polysix::2X Oberheim Matrix 1000 |
