|
|
Kronos is using usb midi to and from daw. I also have a cable out of the physical midi out to a module.
I know when I play the keys, the module is receiving midi from Kronos.
My question is if I record, lets say a combi to one track, when playing a Kronos track back from daw, all is good, but the midi out is not feeding the module?
Is this correct? Any way to feed the module from the midi cable on playback?
I'm trying to do this without adding my Motu Midi Interface, which probably will solve the problem, but if there is a way that someone knows, clue me in. thanks.
Hope that was clear. _________________ Lou |

Wouldn't you have to repatch the midi cable from the out to the thru connector. My understanding is that the midi out only reflects what's actually being played on the keys, whilst the midi thru replicates what arrives at the midi in |

Yes, definitely use midi thru to your module. |

I don't think MIDI Thru would repeat the MIDI from USB as that is normally just a straight through connection.
My Radias has a function where you can address the MIDI ports themselves separately from the sound engine. I was surprised that they never implemented a similar system in the M3. Because I use the Radias as a MIDI interface for my whole setup.
I'm assuming the KRONOS also lacks this functionality? _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, RADIAS-R, Volca Bass, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, R3, Kaossilator Pro +, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II,

Thanks everyone.
From what I can see, the only way around this, is to run a midi out of Kronos to my Motu interface and back out to the module.
This way, I can hear it when I play/record and also when the track plays back from the computer.
I was hoping that I didn't have to add the Motu into the setup..
Any other thoughts? Bring it on. _________________ Lou |

Problem solved!
The module is a VoiceLive 2 for vocal harmony.
I was using it just with a midi cable. Not anymore! I executed the VL2 USB midi, and now in my DAW, Live, Logic,
I have midi reception going in and out! (Harmony playing/ recording and on track playback.
Less wiring and I didn't have to introduce the Motu midi interface..
Everything in the studio is running Firewire and USB, it's all digital, Kronos and vocal tracks. Sounds great! _________________ Lou |
