I stand corrected. Thanks Bill. I will definately check again... Shocked

I wish I knew where the thread(s) went...try searching for preload, samples, EXs3. There was a lot of good information. I am planning to track those threads down and put stuff in a Word document.

You're welcome. I could have sworn there was one more useful thread about the extra .PCG files on the SSD and DVDs, but I cannot find it. There are some extra patches that aren't loaded...I believe they're in the vintage and brass woodwind pcg files.

I faintly remember the same thing and can't find it either.
Perhaps someone from Korg can clarify once more.

Also note in the Voice Name List the "EXs Extras" section at the back of the VNL manual.

With the new artist presets and presets using the new engines, there are Programs and Combis (and related samples) that were released for the OASYS but NOT included in the "preload.pcg". However, the data is on the Kronos hard drive.

Thanks for the hint, Martin!

Is there a way to pre-listen to them from harddrive or do they have to be loaded?

Ás someone not yet familiar with the whole file system I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable with 2Gb and only less than 200Mb left for trying. Before I overwrite anything I want to have a clear mindmap how to organize my data.

One more thing: I know there is no fast overview letting us know which Combi uses which programs actively. But is there something like a general list showing which programs were used in the combis altogether?

I ask because an alphabetical list of all used programs in combis could serve as a warning list when editing/overwriting programs.

Concerning the combis: while most of them are interesting as demos (in the double sense of audio examples and seeing how they are programmed), only a small fraction of them will ever play any role in my music making. So I should perhaps begin my cleanup here in the combis, then make a list of the remaining combis, put them into one block and see which programs this limited number uses. Then I could mark the used programs with an asterix in the name or something.

Just trying to avoid chaos while beginning to write my own patches and combis ...

Is this what you are looking for?
- Program / Combi cross reference here
- Alphabetical list of programs here
- Alphabetical list of combis here

Thanks Synthvalley!
And thanks Michel!

I had the first two lists, but not the cross-references.
VERY useful!
