Hu Guys..
This is probably a question for Stephen Kay or someone who knows a bit about the korg midi setup.
Is there a way in in combi mode to mute and unmute for example timbres 5, 6, and 7 all at once with two midi messages sent from a midi footswitch? |

I made this video for someone in another thread and I don't know if they even saw it. It should help you:
KARMA Combi Layer Switching (Youtube)
Basically, you reapply the above procedure to timbres 5, 6 and 7 as such:
Core timbres - Channel 2
Timbre 5 - Channel 3
Timbre 6 - Channel 4
Timbre 7 - Channel 5
On the KARMA Scene switch 1 - assign all sounds (channels 2 - 5).
Scene switch 2 - assign the channel 2 sounds only. (5, 6 & 7 off)
repeat with Switches 3 - 8, alternating the muting/un-muting of 5,6,7.
Plug in a Foot Switch and go to GLOBAL mode.
Press CONTROLLERS/SCALES tab.
At the top of the screen, set Foot Switch Assign to KARMA SCENE.
What that does is move to the next scene (mute/un-mute) with every tap of your foot. When it gets to scene 8, the next tap brings it to scene 1, again and repeats the whole cycle. |

Hi mike, I finally got my Kronos and have gone through your video three times I'm pretty sure I've done what you said, but I have one tj re that won't turn off and on in he scenes, I've tried changing it's midi channel etc but it still stays on in all scenes, can you tell what I might be doing wrong?

Scott, can you tell me a little more? What are you trying to do exactly? Do some tracks switch on/off, but just the one is giving you trouble? |

Hi mike, only one sound is not turning off in any scene, I tried changing it's midi channel but it still won't work.
What's does the "thru" timbre mean next to the first karma module?
Cheers. |

It shouldn't affect the voice switching. When KARMA is off, your MIDI notes will go through to the track that's checkboxed. For example, turn all the INPUT CHANNELS to 1, next to the vertical A, B, C & D. Even though you are on channel 1, it will play through to the Output Channels that those sounds are on, if all their THRU boxes are checked.
As far as your sound, it should be on one of the KARMA Output channels. In my example, those were channels 2 - 5. Also, make sure all the INPUT CH boxes are set to "GCH" as this makes a difference in the sound triggering or not. |
