I,m trying to find where the master eq is for for audio input, I have my motif plugged into the input to do away with my mixer if possible but it seems to be sucking the life out of the motif sound, it's too toppy and not enough guts, in global mode under audio there doesnt seem to be an eq and in sampling it doesn't seem to alter the sound, anyone know how to set this up?

Cheers
Scott

I think the sampling output can be redirected to an IFX which can be set to an equalizer.

yes, but this mean i would have to change all my combis that occupy IFX, and loosing one IFX slot, i see theres an EQ in sampling but I cannot seem to get my audio to route through it.

Are all the combis using all of the 12 IFXs? Also, can you just use Master EQ on Motif?

I would absolutely not expect any noticeable alteration in frequency response from the inputs, so your description makes me think that the problem is somewhere else. Instead of working with EQ, I'd suggest finding the actual cause. Make sure that gain-staging is correct, for instance (motif output volume, KRONOS rear-panel input gain). Another thing that occurs to me is that summing to mono can make some sources sound strange; make sure that the inputs are panned left and right. If you need assistance, give your national Korg Distributor's tech support a call; that's what they're there for!

Hope this helps,

Dan

Thanks Dan, I'll try playing with the input gain, I didn't think it was clipping but definately noticed a difference when I plugged the motif direct to my mixer. I'll have to adjust all the combi volumes further down than they already are so I can get the motif louder enough comapred to my onboard sounds. I will admit though the Korg to my ears sounds way better than the XF so far Smile Actually for that matter it sounds better than any other other synth I've owned so far.
