i am curious about unusual things in the MS. Here is my first one
the note stretching algorithm for keyboard mode. I made a bank
of 36 note sounds from my own archives. They do not all react the same way to being stretched. Some go incredibly munchkiny quite soon as pitch
is increased ( a proper female vocal sample from a magazine)
BUT some seem to work better or as well as in full spedification on my
Emulator X sample.
These particularly seem to be things i recorded with myself blowing into
the instrument. One is a very good sounding beer botthle the other
a standard melodica. Melodica pitches are problematic anyway but this
always sounded way off on the pc. It actually sound quite nice on the
MS. I suspect some of the differences are to do with frequency content
and also whether the filew were at 44/48 or even 24 bit.
In general things I recorded myself seem to be faring better than
'pro' samples.
