|
|
i have been experimenting with my microSAMPLER for sometime now, but i have stumbled upon a problem i can not work out how to fix/use
in one of my banks are some samples that i would like to use different FX on ( one pitchshifter and another distortion while both adjusting the parameters), i was wondering if there is any other way, than pressing EDIT-FX all the time
also when i tried to solve my problem by using the squencer i found that changing the FX changes all of the layers |

No other way - edit & fx is supposedly the SHORT cut. (Fiddly as f* in use IMO)
It's a great sampler but ergonomics are not its strong point - so I find myself using the effects rarely & patching it to guitar pedals instead. Works for recording - live use you would need a switchable patchbay. (that's where my knowledge runs out) Korg probably want you to buy a KP3 or Quad!
I use a Whammy to get pitch bend. Where there's a will there's a way.. |

The Edit/FX operation isn't all that bad to be honest. I've seen far worse cases of menu diving on other keyboards. Even on the Korg R3, I have to scroll through 29 pages of menus.
But yeah, only one effect at a time on the MS. Even the manual states this, so it's not a design flaw. Digital effects eat up lots of CPU resources, so having more than one effect would have bumped the cost up more. Even the SP-404 uses one effect at a time. You can resample though. Also, another trick for routing out to guitar pedals is panning the samples to the L or R outputs so you can use two pedals at once. _________________ Roland Juno-60, SH-101, TR-606, MC-505, Casio CZ-101, Yamaha DX100, DX11, Kawai R-50e // Korg R3, microSTATION, Monotribe, MS-20 Mini, SQ-1, minilogue, electribe sampler, Volca series: Bass, Keys, Beats, Sample, FM, Kick, Moog Theremin |

I forgot the panning trick, that is a great workaround.
See you have an MC505 re-Member - had one from new back in '98 - passed it onto a band mate when the LCD started to die (& I had exhausted what I could do with it). He then preceded to take it into areas I hadn't even thought of.. It ain't the tools.. LOL |
