Hi. I was searching in this forum about a "DRAM error" which I got after powering up. Nothing worked after that. I tried re-nstalling the OS but no luck. Do I just have to replace the sample memory? There are two 32MB memory sticks right? Hope anyone could help. I live in the philippines and my tech says we may have to change the motherboard, so anything lacking that will be best. Thanks for your time.

You can try removing the sampling memory and see if that resolves the issue - the sampling RAM isn't necessary for the synth to startup and for non-sampling operations.

If it starts up with the SIMMs in there, it may just be a case of bad memory which is easily replaced.

That sounds very logical! Will try that out and update you. Thanks!

Also the RAM might be loose, have dirty contacts or might need to be reseated. Try removing the RAM and check the contacts for oxidation. Take a pencil eraser and clean the contacts. Also, if you have some compressed air, try blowing out the slots where the RAM goes and then reinstall the RAM. Make sure it is seated and snapped in really good. If it still gives you errors, try 1 stick of ram only. Then the other. Maybe only 1 stick might be bad.

Turns out the mainboard is the problem. Apparently, the unit was plugged into 220v but, although there's power detected on the mainboard, some chips may have been affected.

Anyone have a used but working (obviously!) Triton LE motherboard they wanna sell??!! Very Happy

You might want to keep your eyes open for a parts or rough condition LE on Ebay. Might be able to be had for cheap. Or call a few local authorized Korg repair centers. Maybe they have something? Maybe this guy? http://www.armensmusic.com/
Or http://www.bustedgear.com/index.htm Or http://www.syntaur.com/korg_parts.html#triton
http://www.guitar-parts.com/catalog/korg-circuit-boards

Are you in the US or Europe?

PS. Oops, never mind. I just looked at your location. Not sure if those U.S. sites would help then.
