Hi axxim.

In standalone mode press the OPTIONS button in the top right of the Window, then on the Devices page where it says “Audio Device Type” select ASIO.

Do that and your latency should be nothing more than a few milliseconds. I can't even feel the latency with my Tablet PC running ASIO4ALL.

If that doesn't work, then something is very wrong.

I'm in two minds from my personal point of view, although I cant run window 7 on my Galaxy Tablet 7".

I love my tablet, it does most of what I want.

The only place it lets me down is with music apps. For this 1 reason I've been tempted to get an Ipad but so far I've resisted the temptation.

It seems that many software companies create apps for the Ipad but seem to have zero will to do so for Android.

For example, if you own Omnisphere, there's a nice Ipad app, there's no Android equivalent.

I also see Animoog for the Ipad which looks like it would be a nice app.

But, I'm more than happy with my Android apart from that but that's down to software developers to realise there's a big non apple market out there.

Android phones now outsell Apple, if Android tablets don't start to, it will simply be down to developers not supporting it.

I don't dislike Apple at all, it's simply a matter of cost and what I get for the money. I also like the size of my 7" tablet as a 10" stuck on my dashboard for GPS would be too big. that said, if I was using it for more music apps etc, then I may well prefer the 10" size.

My pet peeve, although I have noticed web developers have been relatively quick (give or take a year or two) to either ditch flash totally or offer iOS/mobile-friendly versions of their website. Probably because all the developers have an iPhone or iPad themselves thesedays. Smile

But I've certainly noticed Flash is on the wane. Fewer and fewer sites are using it, and programmers/developers are going out of their way not to use it. It's becoming, if not already, a faux pas. I can't see it lasting another five years, if that. In mobile-land it's already dead in the water. It'll become a niche thing for desktops, and the way things are going (mobile/tablets), particularly looking at all the iPad apps and accessories at Namm this year, the desktop PC is next for the chop.

I doubt that will ever happen, although it could make desktops redundant for certain tasks.

For example, games consoles were supposed to kill gaming on PC's, yet look at the millions of online gamers playing MMO's such as World or Warcraft, Everquest, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars etc.

A lot of gamers I know think nothing of paying more than the top end Ipad for just their desktop Graphics card

Then there's the desktop space, something like Cubase on a 10" tablet will never be as good as a dual 24" monitor setup

I do prefer a tablet over a laptop though

HTML5, which is on the way, will be able to handle video natively, without the need for plugins, thus making flash redundant.

That is what I did the first time I started it. The same with Reaktor.. This is why I keep wondering why I get such a latency. As said using them as VSTs in my Cubase the latency is imperceptible.

Yes indeed. Thank you anyway Sharp.

That could be a point. But by the other side, when I see what some apps offer for their relative low cost, I think there is some kind of refund in your investment. Some apps are free in the "lite" version, so you can test them and if you like them, you aren't going to think too much about if you should spend 0,79; 3,99 or even 12,99 EUR for it. Sometimes you also can wait and maybe the app you want is reduced for a short time and then you have it (like the iMS20).

Another fact that actually has been ignored for years and in my opinion is crucial for the users is, that actually you need to adapt or upgrade constantly your hardware system to meet the newest software requirements. Wasn't it intended to be the other way? Ok maybe it has to go side by side but, what "modern" programmer cares today about sytem resources and code optimization? How many of them know about assembler and machine code? How will be the requirements next year for those devices that have expansion capabilities? They will be needed for sure.
I know my iPad2 which I have now for about 8 months will be superseeded by the iPad3, but actually if the app description says it works with my device, then I can be sure it will (at least for all the apps I have purchased)

One feature that I found very interesting on the iPad, is using 3 apps at the same time with the audio background option enabled. I started a drum machine pattern, switched to chordbot lite setting a chord progression and then started animoog to perform a simple but creative jam session. What I miss now is a kind of background sync, but this will come too in the future.

I also mainly miss music apps on my Android gear. Tuners and Realbook stuff is available, but not really many nice synths or DAW like things like on iPad/iPhone. But the reason, from the developers point of view, is quite clear I think. The Apple stuff uses CoreAudio which is a known and reliable low latency supporting protocol. The Android audio protocol is fine for multimedia, but is simply not designed to compete in the low latency department. I have a synth on my phone, the lowest achievable latency is 46ms.
I think even regardless of the market perception (where most musicians have Apple stuff) from the developers POV, Google needs to seriously update its audio protocol if it is at all interested to compete in this part of the market.

Ouch...!!!! Sorry to hear that.

I have the W500 model. If you want 3G then you need to get the W501. It's identical to my Tablet in every way except for it has 3G.

Nothing special at all. For photo's it's very usable as it takes images at 2Mpixels.
For video the highest resolution is 640X480, so it's by no means high quality. It's usable, but nothing to get excited about. For Skype it's great, but I wouldn't be using it to capture a Birthday party or a family event.

Yes.

There's a light sensor built in, and you have full control over every aspect of colour and brightness. So yes.

No. One colour flavour only. It's black from the front, and a dark grey from the back. The photo's online don't do it justice. It looks even better in real life.

I can record a little video of my Tablet this weekend and post it on YouTube if you want. It may not have the simplicity of an iPad but I honestly can honestly say having a full desktop OS and complete freedom to do what I want is priceless to me. This tablet has been one of my best ever buys, I'm VERY happy with it.

Regards
Sharp.

Hello Sharp

Thank u very much for a nice respond!!!

and maby it will sound strange but speaking about me the solid black colour case or and red leds just couse for some reson in me a big deppresion and i really would like to get something in white colour

Today i was at the lockal WallMart and they had the exectly the same tabled as u have and the price was 498 Canadian dollars , but then i looked at the laptops and they are even more powerful for the same price. But all of them are in black colour (but as i seid i would really want a white colour over black)

Well i just want to mantion i need this device only for a very limited use, so i really don't need any powerful specs because a serious music work will be done on my Mac Pro 8 core desctop.

But my need for this are:
1)something portable ( not a big laptop will be fine)
2) be able to brouwse internet
3) maby not a super good but atlist with a decent quality build in video camera( because i like to make photos outdoors and i want to send pictures to my perents back to my country)
4)white colour case Very Happy

So i looked for a white colour laptop and i found that apple only makes such, but they are a bit pricy, so i looked at Macbook Air 13 inch model and then i looked at Macbook Pro 13inch.

Well i seid that i don't need a powerul specs, but it seems that macbook Pro over other laptops are available in white colour and also future a good high resolution video camera and they build like tanks so i don't know whould i will pay 1249 just for that, because as i seid i don't need a powerful specs.

So now i am thinking....

Those are pretty simple needs. Any Andriod Tablet or iPad would suite you much better as it will be lighter, and give you better battery life.

A Windows 7 Tablet is really a completly different anamil.

huh ?
In my local PC store there's at least 50 Netbooks and laptops on display. All of which are difference colours. Even my Wife has a White Netbook. (Samsung NP-NC10)

You should have absoutly no problem finding a laptop or netbook the colour you want. There's so many to choose from and you can bet they all cost far less than an Apple.

Sharp.

Hi Sharp.

Thank u for the advice. Yes maby i have to cheak other stores more.
But i was at the big stores also like LondonDrugs and Future Shop and all what they have are black, don't know why Sad maby in ur country it is different

Also I think i could get a laptop from Dell online with a castom graphics, and it would cost only about 70 dollars upcharge but unfortionaly i don't have a valid credit card so i cannot buy anything online but i can buy only with cash.

But i will try to keep my searches for a some time... Wink

Have a Nice Day!!!
