My experience is that this hinders the production of music. I can't advise against it though..
My favourite iOS music apps are:
- iMS20
- iKaossilator
- iMaschine
- Garrageband
A new one that looks cool but haven't had a chance to try yet is Propellerhead Figure. _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, Karma, RADIAS-R, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II, Novation ReMote37SL, Akai APC20, MOTU MIDI TimePiece 2.

Not too many options for the pro synthesist, but there are a few very goiod apps. There's no pro sampler, for example. But they'll come around I'm sure. We still need more processing power and memory.
In my opinion:
iMS-20
Animoog
PPG Wavegenerator
NLog Pro
TC-11
If you're looking for something really different, try TC-11. Not the usual interface, but that's what is cool about this app. And its very deep in programming and synthesis resources. _________________ Korg Kronos 61, Korg KingKorg, Korg X50, Korg Triton Extreme 76 (96MB RAM, MOSS), Korg MS2000B, Korg monotron series (classic, duo, delay), Korg monotribe, Kawai K5000W, Nord Stage 88, Nord Electro 2, Nord Modular G2X, Nord Lead 3, Novation X-Station, iPad 3, iPad 4.

J just got the ims-20 last night and also am using
Alchemy Mobile
Novation Launchkey
DrumJam (really great)
Morphwiz
Samplewiz
Garage band ( not found useful so far)
I just got the ipad mini about 2 weeks ago and will definately be adding to these as there is some great software ou there to find. It did tak some time but was well worth the search. The touch pad can really be creative especially with the synth apps.
I realy need to get the camera/lightning adapter cable so i can hook up a controller keyboard next//// |

I can honestly say that I am really impressed with the Alchemy Mobile software and the folks over at Camel audio who make it.
The initial app is free and impressive on its own.
I liked it so much that I purchased seveal of their refill sound packs at only 5 bucks a piece and they were all great , plus they gave out 25 additional sounds/loops ect for signing up to their page.
This morning when I opened my app and went to load a sound I found out that every pack I had purchased had new upgrades and the synth itself had a free upgrade and now offers four track recording within the app. and the ability to create your own drum loops/ all for the free version mind you.
So I am now in the process of upgradeing to the pro version for only $9.99 and I get •Save song so you can recall your tunes
•Export WAV and MIDI
•8 songs, 75 sounds & 25 loops
•Pitchbend Each Note by sliding your finger left and right
•Virtual MIDI - control Alchemy from other Apps such as Beatmaker
•Save and load individual tracks
•Record remix pad movements
•Mark presets as favourites for easy lookup
•Additional quantize options including triplets
•Additional keyboard scales
•Auto Sync to External MIDI tempo
•Poly control - set the number of notes to play at once
•Latency Control - balance polyphony vs. latency
•Remote Control of Alchemy or Alchemy Player on your desktop computer
•Load Alchemy Desktop presets
•Download Mobile Version of any desktop sound libraries you own for free
•Polyphonic pitchbend and aftertouch sent to desktop Alchemy
I am also going to order the other two soundpacks i wanted while I am at it just because I am so happy with a company who supports their products so well. KUDOS to everyone and you can check out the software here for the ipad/

I just added Magellan dual synth to the line up and mmmm it has some real sweet sound sculpting with a whole bunch of presets that can be morphed or played individually. on board arps and sequencer really trick this little beast out. I will have to keep you posted but along with alchemy this will more than likely be one of my go to apps.
Thanks to whomever it was from another thread who turned me on to Magellan..
