Hey all. Thanx for reading this. I've been working on my setup for a few days now, making headway here&there with getting software & drivers down but its the MIDI that I'm struggling with. This is what I have: PC Windows XP Pro running Ableton Live 8 software. Korg Electribe EM-1. Roland MC-303. M-Audio Oxygen 8 MIDI (USB) Controller. M-Audio Midisport 2x2 MIDI/USB Interface. Gemini PS-626 Pro mixer. A lovely vintage Technics SA-8100x reciever/amplifier. Lots of audio cable, a few USB cables & 2X MIDI cables.

Ideally I would like to have both synths (Korg+Roland) connected to the Oxygen 8 contoller & the controller connected to the PC & running in Ableton Live. Can this be done? How? Really confused about MIDI in/out/thru Diagrams & corrospondance most welcome. Look forward to hearing from someone.

Shaun

Hi Shaun,

What you want to do is connect teh controller to your computer via USB. Then, and this may cost some money, you want to either get a splitter or a MIDI interface -- just somethign that can slipt the signal in two. Once you get that, just connect 2 MIDI cables to the I/F and then run one cable to the KORG and the other to the Roland.

However, this setup makes it so that whatever you do on your Oxygen is done thrice: once to the computer, KORG, and Roland. If you want them separate, I'd recommend just using the Oxygen with the computer, and using the others standalone.
