| I downloaded OS from website. It's in a zip file, but Winzip wont unzip file ( I think it's about 6gb) Install instructions look fairly simple using usb but does file need to be unzipped first, if so How?? |

Download it again or re-install win zip - the file definitely unzips OK.
Cheers

I am happy that we are discussing about this OS update. I confess that after reading the criticisms on the sticky post I decided not to upgrade my 2.01 to the 2.02 on the pa2x.
I ask to those who did it after some month if it is working properly, if you experienced problems like the keyboard that does not sound anymore or difficulties with user edited musical resources.
BTW if I upgrade to 2.02 do I have to upload new musical resources or the 2.01 are fine?
Thanks, Simone |

| I have'nt had any problems at all. Dont really notice any difference. It says you must load the musical resource file with it, so I did... Good Luck |

Resources 2.01 are the correct resources for OS 2.02.

Ciao Simone,
Haven't heard anyone yet who actually thought the 2.02 OS was indeed worth installing. Have heard some though who had problems afterwards. So why bother ? Unless the minor improvements, I forgot what they related to, are of importance to you. Save yourself some time and have a nice pizza instead !!
Buon appetito,
John |

Thanks John,
I really appreciate your comment. In fact I was attracted by the new OS, but I am not sure of what I should expect in terms of improvement.
Anyway I am going to attend to your advice and this evening I'll have a good pizza!
best regards.

To those concerned here are the details of the 2.02 update:
1. LYRICS: with some standard midi file formats lyrics were not always shown correctly.
2. BUG FIX: the "sequencer 2" label was shown instead of sequencer 1.
3 BUG FIX: loading performance data from the new PA3X into the PA800 could damage the internal data.
That is all. Now if you intend to load performance data from the PA3X into your PA you might want to consider this update.
Personally I stay away from it.......
John
P.S. buon appetito Simone ! |
