Pumpkin King - Through The Meadow - January 2012

Post by Pumpkin King »

So I actually have a few that I've done for this month. Some pretty dumb and funny, the other that I did was an electronic song I did for a friend's project. But I'd say I like this one the most (in terms of it's melodic content, haha). It's an orchestral song that I had to do for class here. I already had this idea down on piano...and will do a piano version eventually. But yeah...it's sorta reminiscent of video game soundtracks from, say, Final Fantasy or Zelda.

If you want to check out any other tracks that I did though, feel free to check them out :D.

Anyways...

this does remind me of some of those gaming moments, I'm thinking too of that one where the boy has to dungeon crawl to rebuild his town. Very nice and a good recording. The strings are very lush in the upper reaches as well. Beautiful.

Thanks George, been awhile since I've heard from ya.

I'm not sure what game you are talking about, but I do think it has a very memorable video game-like melody. Like when I listen to it, I seriously think that it came from something else. Hmm... But I should do a piano version of this sometime soon. That's how I composed in so quickly in Pro Tools; it came from a tune that I play on the piano quite frequently.

I just remembered the game I was thinking of: Dark Cloud. It was on the ps2, an rpg dungeon crawler. I know I've been taking time off from my music, but I'm now working on producing the cd that came out of all my instrumental stuff from prior years. I'm glad to see you're hanging in there. I need to get back into playing something everday too, it makes a big difference when you keep at it consistently.

definitely makes me think of zelda, but I can't pinpoint which song. Maybe the intro to Ocarina or something from Skyward. It just has that perfect zelda essence

Yeah I'd agree...a good bit of some zelda songs follow a similar pattern and chord structure. I know my friend here told me it sounded like it was from Zelda too.

Thanks man. Dunno if you're referring to me? 'cause honestly, at least in terms of Zelda, I haven't finished a single one. It goes for a lot of games, really. But I love video game music. My favorites are Donkey Kong Country, Sonic the Hedgehog, Okami, and Zelda.

It's such a good game. Not nearly as bland as all the Zelda games, art style is amazing, and I can't stress how good the music is.
