|
|
I'm trailing using my new iPad instead of my MacBook, which now has limited battery life, and I just want to dedicate that more to making music and less to everyday stuff.
It's actually pretty good, but Safari in IOS seems to think that 'log me in automatically' in phpbb2 is synonymous with "always log me out and mark everything as read when I return", which is vastly annoying as I can't see what's new!
Any suggestions? _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, Karma, RADIAS-R, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II, Novation ReMote37SL, Akai APC20, MOTU MIDI TimePiece 2.

Strange. I use my iPad on the forums 80% of the time and my iPhone pretty much the rest but I never have to log back in and it always shows me the new posts that I haven't yet read. Do you have cookies disabled? Or have you been deleting the cookies and data? Not sure what else could be causing this. _________________ Current gear: Korg PA800, Voicelive 2, Shure SM58, Alesis M1 Active 520, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Music Creator 5, Cubase LE4, Faith Venus HG Electro Acoustic, Shine frontier Stratocaster, 2 x Yamaha acoustic, Line 6 Spider IV 30 |

I've had the issue on my mac also, but I think that is if using 'private mode' and opening a new tab, it opens the 'top sites' and perhaps preloads korgforums causing the cookies to get blanked.
I haven't been messing with anything like that though.
My iPad did run out of battery earlier though. But that's not the first time it's done this. _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, Karma, RADIAS-R, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II, Novation ReMote37SL, Akai APC20, MOTU MIDI TimePiece 2.

If you're surfing the web in private mode then that would definitely account for the problems your experiencing. It stops the iPad or computer you're using from storing any info so it won't remember you at all. On the iPad under settings-safari there is a section to turn private browsing on or off. _________________ Current gear: Korg PA800, Voicelive 2, Shure SM58, Alesis M1 Active 520, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Music Creator 5, Cubase LE4, Faith Venus HG Electro Acoustic, Shine frontier Stratocaster, 2 x Yamaha acoustic, Line 6 Spider IV 30 |

Oh yes, I know that.
I'm merely pointing out that I've only had this problem on the Mac when surfing in Private Mode, on other sites (not directly on KorgForums).
Haven't even tried that on the iPad.
I still seem to be logged in at the moment so I think it is related to having had to turn the iPad off. If I leave it switched on then it's fine. _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, Karma, RADIAS-R, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II, Novation ReMote37SL, Akai APC20, MOTU MIDI TimePiece 2.

I use my iPad to access KF when I'm travelling and have never been aware of the issue mentioned.
That said, I've just started using Safari on PC and I find that every couple of days I've been logged out and have to log in to KF again but tends not to happen with other sites (eg Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc, - usual stuff!).
I've always put it down to the servers being re-booted or something else server side (maintenance-wise) which results in kicking everyone off...
But this (so far) hasn't happened to me on iPad. _________________ Plugged in:Fantom G6, Jupiter-80, V-Synth GTv2, XV5050, SRV330, Symphony Module, ER mk2, D3200, iMS20, iPolysix, Alesis M1 Active Mk2

Has happened again!
Haven't even turned it off, although I am on a different WiFi network in a different part of the country _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, Karma, RADIAS-R, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II, Novation ReMote37SL, Akai APC20, MOTU MIDI TimePiece 2.
