Does anybody know whether USBmidi is supporting midi-through? Couldn´t find anything in the manual...

Can´get it running. Got my Axiom61 hooked up to Kronos via USB to the USB-A port and my macbook to the USB-B port, using Kronos as Audio Interface for the Macbook and Mainstage. This is so far a great setup. I can play Kronos from the Axiom, but not Mainstage. This i can play only from Kronos.
I could plug in the Axiom into the second usb-port of the macbook, but this would mean additional cabling (2 looong USB-cables to the macbook) plus additional programming effort in Mainstage (i.e. an external Midi-Channel in each patch) which i want to avoid.

Any ideas?

Do you see KRONOS in Mainstage as a MIDI out device?

How would MainStage know where to send the MIDI? That's the problem.. if you don't tell MainStage that you are sending MIDI out. Of course you you can't play from MainStage if you don't set the patch to MIDI out....

I don't have a definitive answer for you, but I thought there was a thread about the Kronos not sending USB MIDI thru.

How is the latency when using the Kronos as an audio interface????

Thanks for your replies, appreciate that.

@BillW: The latency is 128 sample without any clicks (somewhat around 8ms)

@Shakil: Mainstage recognizes Kronos as Audio and Midi device.

In this particular setup the signal flow is (all via USB): Axiom -->Kronos--> Mac and back: Mac -->Kronos-->Axiom. So Kronos is in the middle and supposed to route the midi signals through, while actually nothing Midi is coming FROM the Mac...

About 4 to 6 ms on my macbook pro. Very impressive AD/DA though. Reckon you would need to spend at least 500 dollars on an outboard for same quality.

Ahhh- I can hear arguments coming down the track on that point!!

I run through a 20k PA on tour. That size of set up sets the boys of hardware apart from the men.

I find it most reliable when I use the effects on the Kronos, and leave the laptop look after the minimum.

Set your patches up so that the sampling option is enabled from USB in, and figure out your routing.

That's how it's done.

If I get time I will bang up a video on same.

Sampling, USB-Audio etc. works fine. I´m just checking on Midi-routing...

@BillW: Kronos as Soundcard is great - One usb-cable and your good to go. Also you will have all the plugins you wanted almost directly in Kronos Wink
