|
|
Hi, all,
It has been quite awhile since I posted here, since I sold my PA80 awhile back to concentrate on Flamenco. (Last time I was here we were all discussing the merits of KAT2000..
In any case, I have been looking at the microarranger and feel GAS coming on once again, especially since I notice that (according to the manual) it will IMPORT PA80 Styles, which I saved on my old hard disk... IS THIS TRUE?
(Especially the Arabic styles).....
Thanks, and if so, I will become a new microarrragner owner in a NY second...
Best Regards,
Chuck

Chuck,
apart from missing a few things such as aftertouch and connections at the back the Micro Arranger is IDENTICAL TO THE PA80.
(it is 100% identical to the PA50).
It reads all PA80 software without any problems.............

Hi, John,
Thanks for the reply. Wow, that really opens things up. I'm going to try to sell my GT-10....
What about the EMC software; does it help in making styles (I still have a copy of KAT 2000 around, I think, though...)
Are there any other alternatives to style creation since I've been gone? (I notice my tutorial efforts are still on file....

Anyway, before I jump off here, my interest in the PA80 was to try to make backing tracks for the guitar. Since most Flamenco is in specific combinations of 6/8,3/4, I was thinking of recording 4/4 pattern sequences in various chord progressions, and chopping off the last beat to use them in Ableton Live....
My question: can I make a MIDI file that will trigger the PA80/microarranger using two finger sequence (e.g. one or two notes at the start of the measure), which will then start the major/minor chord interpretation of the accompaniment. (i.e., the microarranger would interpret the MIDI input as one-finger triggering of accompaniment patterns rather than single MIDI notes.)
(so I would trigger an pattern by simply hitting two notes when I wanted the pattern to start - which could be anywhere in the measure, which would be created in Ableton for output to the arranger)
If this doesn't make sense, I'll understand................ _________________ "Flamenco Chuck" Keyser

Another application for my previous post would be to use a foot controller to send MIDI notes (eg "one finger" format) to change chords (either directly or via Live) to accompany my guitar playing...
What do you guys think? I'm saving now for the microarranger _________________ "Flamenco Chuck" Keyser
