PostPosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 4:10 pm    Post subject: Proofreaders and Testers requested for PCG Tools and manual Reply with quote

As most people know I am developing PCG Tools. I spend the last 1,5 month restructuring the code to make the code ready for major future additions.

Since I touched most of the source code I need to test everything again and I don't have time for writing unit tests (yet). Therefor, I am busy with testing everything manually.

To know what to test I have to check every function so I decided to write a manual at the same time.

I probably will need about a month for finishing everything, but the manual is done in stages.

What I would kindly request is two kind of testers:
1) Manual checkers (I think it is called proofreaders) for the manual.
I think a few people would be enough. However I also can split the task chapters. I am not only interested in typos, but also if everything is clear or some explanation is missing.

2) Testers: the more the better ... possibly I will send it the updated app to everybody with a notice that it is just a test version but it would be nice how you think about it. I will do trivial tests myself but I just can't test everything on every model (I even don't have all models).
This versin of PCG Tools will be more or less equal in functionality than the previous version with some small improvements and bug fixes and possibly new bugs (for which I need your help).

Note that it can take some time (weeks, month, a bit more) before both are finished.

Kind regards,

Michel

Update:

Below I made a list of beta testers and proofreaders. Thank you all for helping!
Btw, I can use more than one tester per model, so don't hesitate to join.

Thank you very much ... since I do not have an Oasys myself beta testing would be very nice.

Would you also take a look at the manual? Until know I only differ in the manual for Set lists (Kronos only) but maybe I overlook documentation issues.

I'll be traveling next two weeks so it won't be possible to test the program but a good reading material for the trip is welcome Wink

If you need it I'll be glad to review the manuals.

Best regards.

Thank you, however I'm still writing it and it will take some time so it is not finished before you will get back. I will add you to the list anyway and have a good trip.

Thank you very much ... I think I am going to group all testers, so that also some testers will test not a Kronos but an older one.

Which would you like to test? I see you have more Korg models.
