Just a small heads-up for those who do not already know this.
The CS can be fully controlled from the EC5 foot switch!! And only one switch is required for record and one for playback, unlike the sometimes awkward "double switch pressing" you need to do to activate from the PA panel buttons.
I also discovered that the Assignable foot switch can also be used, but it can only be set to either CS record start, or CS play...I don't think the assignable foot switch socket is stereo, so a stereo foot switch could not be used...in any case the interface does not allow an option to set both CS record and play controls to the one foot switch.
So there you have it, CS can be controlled, and very easily, from the EC5 pedal...

Great find Dennis!. I will try it tonight. I have a switch or two I don't use much on the EC5.
Thanks,
Don |

Hi Dennis,
A lot of folks are going to be very happy that you've rejoined the Pa3X fold. Your knowledge, and the willingness to share it, is greatly appreciated by many. I'm not a 3X'er yet, just hoping that I soon may be, but I'm 'favouriting' all your stuff as I know it'll be invaluable later on. I'm sure I'm speaking for a good number on here.
Cheers, Giner _________________ When I nod my head . . . Hit it! |

It would probably be of great help if Korg somehow manage this 'one button' approach for the front panel CS buttons too. Mind you, I am a little confused. A CS usually needs THREE buttons... Rec, Play, and Stop.
Have Korg set up the Play button so it toggles between Play and Stop?
Come to think of it, that's a pretty nifty way to do it. Why not have that behavior on the front panel too?
Still think that the CS not transposing is the biggest problem the feature has. Hopefully, Korg have addressed this in the forthcoming OS update. _________________ In the future, everybody will be famous for 15MB |

Yeah Diki, that's how it works...you have one switch of the EC5 for record, and one for playback as I said, but it is a toggle arrangement...
Press the record one to start and then press it again to stop record and press the play one to start playback, press it again to stop playback..
I can confirm it does not transpose the chords...but I am thinking why would you need to??
If one is entering chords for the CS, the player (person) obviously already either knows the chord progression being used or has a chart with the chord progression..
The only people I can think of that would NEED transpose on the CD are those who cannot play in any other key but all the white ones!!!
The PA does transpose chords when playing in real time, and if using a midi backing track - it even allows the transpose to be saved with the Songbook entry......I am still trying to think of what the hell a player would need the actual CS to transpose for????
