I'm here again for help. I'd like to learn how to use a PC based DAW to record songs played by my PA2X. I'm not shure were to start from. I downloaded the midi driver and installed it into my laptop. Now I need a DAW and would like to try with a free one before purchasing something like cubase or others.
the problems are:
1. how to configure the pc so that it can communicate with the keyboard?
(which i think I have to do before using the DAW)
2. and then which free digital recording software do you suggest? (easy and friendly please).
3. Last point a bit OT but interesting for me that I'd like to learn how to use the keyboard and the PC tools. I know that there are so called VST. Can I instal one of these and control fron the PA2X using the same midi usb connection? can you explain how? I downloaded a free one called sampletank free and a VSTHOST but sincerely I don't know what to do with both. I open the programs and cannot find a tutorial to put them togheter and get something out with the keyboard
Any advice is welcome, above all if you can provide links to websites or material that i can learn to understand about these topics.

Hi Simone
There are many free DAWs available to download from internet.
A magazine called COMPUTER MUSIC has a dvd attached which is full of progs and their back issues have covered just about every topic.
I do not know your location, but in England the mag is in all decent sized bookshops (Tescos, W.H.Smiths etc)
I hope this assists you
