Dan,
Please help me out. What do you mean with child/parent relationships?
I am not familliar with this term. What does the editor do in this context?
Thank you

The editor shows for example which combis (parents) are related to which childs (programs). It is quite useful to have this overview for internal Kronos relations.
On the other hand, it is one of the very few things where the software editor really adds helpful functionality over the direct Kronos interface. I had hoped for more of that kind. _________________ Kronos 73 - Rhodes 73 Mk I - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - KKorg Synth - Access Virus TI Keyboard |

That's a small part of it, but more importantly, the editor maintains links between parents and children when items are moved or copied. See the manual for more info. _________________ Dan Phillips

So much for child/parent relationships. Where does it tell me which samples and wave sequences are used by which programs and vice versa? I go to Global mode and tell it to turn off the graphics in HD-1 programs and it does nothing. I go to the program page and click on the graphics and nothing happens. The Cubase script generation leaves something to be desired. Why isn't it by voice type for instance? And wouldn't it be nice if the contents page in the doc actually specified the correct page numbers. I won't be using the editor. I'll wait for something better to come along. I think there's three chances of that happening - fat slim and none.

Do you mean you changed the global "graphics setting" in the plug in, and it didn't adjust the graphics setting on the Kronos hardware? Or do you mean that it didn't adjust the graphics on the main program Play page in the Editor? I don't think its supposed to adjust the Editor. That page (program/play), as far as I can tell....is not 'active' in the same way it is on the Kronos hardware itself. Clicking on the graphics do not jump you to the associated pages as it does on the Kronos hardware. So if that is what you are expecting, I am pretty sure that page is merely to show uniformity with the actual Kronos hardware interface, for informational purposes, without using it for functionality as you do on the Kronos itself. If you are changing the setting in the editor and its not responding on the hardware itself....that's then either a bug, or a communication error. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/ronf-3/sets/ronf-music

My complaint is that the program page in the editor does not respond in the same way as the page on the Kronos. This makes the editor rather less than useful. If it doesn't do anything, why bother to display it at all? They just haven't bothered to do the thing properly.

I do understand your point of view. I think the point of displaying the Play page in this case so that there is total uniformity between the Kronos hardware U.I. and the Editor U.I., so they mirror each other. In the case of the hardware, being that the human interface is a touch screen, the hot links to the edit pages from the Play screen are perhaps more useful. In the case of the editor, where you have the mouse to navigate around, they apparently didn't think it was as necessary to include the hot links. Of course, in any event, the Play page is definitely useful as an overview of the patch, showing the various elements of the patch, and even some detail of the parameter status in each element. So its definitely more useful than not showing it at all. Would have been nice to have the hot links there in the Editor....but not essential...and I agree with the choice to mirror the hardware screens 1:1. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/ronf-3/sets/ronf-music

What I really wanted was to remove those pictures from HD-1 programs so that I could see at a glance which samples and wave sequences were used by the program, which is what I do on the Kronos. If the display is just for info then the pictures convey nothing useful, so they could at keast have given us the option to remove them.
