It would be useful to have feedback from users as to which "USB class compliant" devices work when plugged into the Kronos and make a sticky out of the list. Some devices which are advertised as class compliant do not seem to work. In any case, a list of USB devices that do will be useful to all.
For example:
- Korg Nanopad/Nanopad 2

Korg MicroKontrol works well.
I haven't tried the Korg Kontrol 49 but I'm sure it will work just like the MicroKontrol.
(Plus for both of these Midi contollers the surface layout mirrors that of the Kronos's knobs and sliders). _________________ Kronos 61 & KK KARMA / Triton Ex c/w MOSS and TR KARMA / MS2000 / Radias / Kaossilator Pro & Kaossilator / Korg Kontrol 49 / Nanopad / Novation Nova / Waldorf Blofeld

All USB class compliant MIDI devices will work - that's the point of class compliance!

This is true - for sure!
edit: I just verified the Novation Impulse website. They are advertising USB-class-compliance there.
Would be interesting what the problem actually is that keekma is describing...
But i anyway like the idea of this thread. _________________ Kronos88, Oasys76, Minimoog Voyager, Axiom61, Mac Pro,MacBook Pro, Logic - and a whole bunch of older stuff...

Assuming that we're class-compliant, that is, which I believe to be the case. _________________ Dan Phillips

I ordered a M audio Axiom today to compare it with the Novation Impuls I bought yesterday. If the Axiom is working in my setup, it must be the Impuls thats not really class compliant. I then will send the Impuls back. I will keep you posted. _________________ Kronos88, M-audio Axiom 61

When I installed the Novation Impuls on my computer, windows could not make a good connection with the Impuls without the software and driver of the Impuls. The hardware was not installed. The manual states that without the installation of the driver and software, there is just minimal functionality of the Impuls. So I think the stated class compliant is not so classy after all?
Is this a logical conclusion? _________________ Kronos88, M-audio Axiom 61

AFAIK, class-compliant devices should not need drivers installed. At least this is the way on Mac. It might be different on Windows though.
I think your conclusion is logical. _________________ Kronos88, Oasys76, Minimoog Voyager, Axiom61, Mac Pro,MacBook Pro, Logic - and a whole bunch of older stuff... |
