Is there a possibility to identify a recorded System Exclusive Event (SysEx) in the Sequencer?

If there are many recorded SyEx events it may become hard to keep an overview over what each of them does.

The MIDI Event Edit window under the page menu of the Track Edit page just shows the measure and the beat-tick information as well as the SysEx image plus the text "SysEx", but I cannot find information on what that SysEx does.

Any possibility to find out about that in a simple way?

The upshot is... no. You need to check in the SysEx doc of the Kronos and learn what the codes are. Just looking at them will not tell you what they do unless you recognise the string because you have learned what it correspoonds to.

There is Midi implementation document on CD which explains everything. But, even after certain study that will not become comfortable for you to read and easily understand the nature of each Sysex, just because these messages are too long and are looking very similar to each other.

You will see these strings in event list if recorded in DAW, but it is crazy job to interpret it, easier to playback track by steps and see what happens.

The only software that presents sysexes messages in visible correlation with certain hardware controls are Roland's editors for SonicCell/Juno series.

Kronos Editor internally has the same function, but don't know (no kronos- no need to learn that editor) if it visible for a user. Guess, it's hidden.

Open the MIDI monitor window from the Utilities menu. It will show all of the MIDI and SysX messages exchanged between the software and the Kronos and it maintains a history you can review.

Not to point out a shortcoming, but on M3 Sequencer, you can create sysex message by selecting Create Exclusive Data command in Track Edit menu.

There you can have 1000s of commands ranging from Song Setup to detailed settings for KARMA and all effects parametrs...

The event list shows like this...

M.001 #002 EXCL BT: 01.001 IFX2:Gain[db]: +18
M:001 #003 EXCL BT:0 KAR[A]GE:02 Arp M

The parameter values are editable, so I could change +18 to +10 in event list, without having to deal with any exclusive hex codes.

I am not sure if this is possible on KRONOS sequencer.
