Hello korg family i am new to the forum and a new user to the M3.. This is my first keyboard for i have been using the Roland Mv 8800 production studio.. Anyways im still learning this beast (m3) but my goal is to sequence my tracks on the MV.. The way i have it set up is a midi cable running from the midi out of the m3 to the midi in to the MV.. Audio cables are connected as well for have no problem hearing wat i play on the keyboard.. I've gone by the book on how to set up my Mv with external midi devices and when i record ... The MV shows that its recording what i am playing .. THE PROBLEM is when i press play back to hear what i have recorded.. I hear nothing.. Very fustrating.. Is there something that i have to do to the keyboard to send the midi to my mv?? Im confused because my mv is showing me that its recording the midi..*sighs* if there is anyone out there that can help please... Thanks |

I think your problem is simple.....you need another midi cable connected from the mv midi out to the m3 midi in....this will allow the midi information that you've recorded into the mv sequencer to trigger the sounds from the associated midi channels in the m3 _________________ SYNTHS:

| Is there a way to record muiltple combis from the M3 to an external sequencer such as my mv??? I recorded 1 and then on my external seqeuncer loaded the next midi track.. Went to the M3 to switch/make a new combi.. For the new midi track.. It not only switched my combi sound but the one i previously already recorded.. I spent some hours trying to figure out what im doing wrong.. To no avail though.. Help please |

no you can't access multiple combis at one time. unless you are using combis that use only a few programs in them and make your own combi that combines two smaller combies... (for example)
you like:
combi a
&
combi b
you combine combi a & b and create combi c.
within combi c set combi a on 1 midi channel and combi b on another midi channel. then your mv will treat them like two different combis (even though they are both within "one" combi.
you can do it like that or you can record REAL audio (instead of midi) into your MV... then you can use as many combis as you'd like to in your songs/projects. _________________ SYNTHS:
