|
|
Is it just me that would love to see this or am I missing something?
Is there a way to save patch routings within the MS-20EX as presets within the MS-20ex engine (like a IFX/MFX preset) and call them up when designing a new sound?
I know it takes the "virtual" out of the MS-20EX to a degree, but it could save SO much time!
If I could have a wish for a feature upgrade on a future OS, THIS would be near the top.... _________________ Kronos 2 88, Nord Wave, Nord Lead A1 |

I'd welcome that also, for all the engines. _________________ Kronos 61

Yeah, that would be neat. Like in Mod7 (can we save user patch routings there?) _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, RADIAS-R, Volca Bass, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, R3, Kaossilator Pro +, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II,

what i did was to create 'templates' for each style and engine that i use. Then when i create new programs i have a starting point where the basics are setup to my liking and i can focus on creating the sound.
You could do the same with the MS-20, just create a few programs where the patch panel is setup the way you like it and save those with the name template : purpose
for instance when you want to create a sea sound then you setup the template once to create that sound and save that also as a template. Now whenever you want to create a soundeffect where the start of your idea is something like that sea then you copy the template to a new program and all your basic settings are there
If you set this up this way, programming times are drasticly reduced.
I've did the same in my wave sequence tutorial, i've used an HD1 template that i've created for ambient pads, now when i was done creating the wave sequence i loaded the wave sequence in that template and the sound was about 70 procent ready, so the last 30 percent were changes to that template. (as shown in that tutorial). |

Now we have the room for many more voices, you could dedicate a bank for different templates from different engines, or do it the more fiddly way of storing them on stck or PC, if you have to have hundreds of 'em. I wonder how many of us have started to overwrite the loads of pre-programmed sounds that we'll never actually use?... There's some room! |

did you now that these kind of patch routing setups in the MOD-7 default are available? You can select those at the top of the patch panel. |

the termins they use in there, i am more of the old school, i do the patching
my self with some modification...it would've been nice if they added them with
certain names for people that dont know much about this. _________________ http://www.basaristudios.com
