Hey guys, I have a Korg Microstation and I'm trying to record while using arpeggiator on Pro Tools 10. The arppegiation definitely works on it's own. It's only when I use Pro Tools that it doesn't work. |

Mmm, vagueness, a forum's enemy.
What is your setup? If you're just recording audio from the MS, I can't see any problems there. However, if you are using a MIDI-USB converter, or otherwise trying to use MIDI with ProTools, we need to know what you're trying to do and how you're doing it. _________________ Cheers! Yoa

I'm doing Midi. I'm sorry for the vagueness!
I have Latched/Looped a chord that was played and arppegiated using the Microstation and I'm trying to record that arppegiation of that chord. But it's just recording that initial chord. It's not getting the Looped arppegiation of the individual notes in the chord. Thanks for your time and effort to help!
Do you have the MicroStation? |

It's ok. We get a lot of it
Ah, yes, this is a very common problem with arpeggiators. Normally, the MIDI output uses the keyboard's signal, not the generated signal. Yet, oddly enough, if you connect a synth to it, the synth is arp'd. I don't think anyone knows why this is the way it is. I recommend just drawing in/playing and recording the sequence. Sorry mate.
I do not, alas, but I do have the original Microkorg which uses the same arpeggiator engine and has the same problem. _________________ Cheers! Yoa

I'm having the very same problem right now as we speak, the only difference is that I have my Microkorg midi'd up 'handshake' style to my MPC 2000XL and the arpeggiator on the MK is only triggering the notes 'hold' style. The gate, swing, last step and resolution functions seem to have no effect at all.
Incidentally I ran into the same situation about a week ago when I tried to midi my Microstation up to my MPC in the same exact fashion. Everything works fine except the arpeggiator. I've double checked all my settings, filters, and midi channels and everything is connected right as far as I know. _________________ Korg ESX-1

Yeah, digital apreggiators tend to hate divulging what they are doing to other stuff via MIDI. Oddly enough, I can use my MicroKORG's arpeggiator with my DX7. I don't know if the MicroSTATION has these features, but all I need to do to get it to work is connect the synths, give them the same MIDI channel, and then make it so that the MK transmits its MIDI signal in the "Post" location. For me it's Edit 2>Global>Location, Pos. I'm sure you can find a microSTATION equivalent. I'd hope so, anyway! _________________ Cheers! Yoa
