1. In sequencer mode kronos german grand is a random techno synth , when i change to a different piano it sounds normal.
2. In combi and sequencer mode clicking on solo and muting all other tracks has no affect and all sounds can still be heard.
could it be something to do with the software? or does it sound like a hardware fault.

I tried number 2, and it works for me. Even with Karma running! _________________ "To me the synthesizer was always a source of new sounds that musicians could use to expand the range of possibilities for making music."

#1- you have something at the beginning of your sequence that is resetting the program to that techno sound. read the manual on the sequencer section. there is a way to delete that program change & add your own new 1 in at the beginning. make sure you save the .SNG file to the SSD. _________________ "To me the synthesizer was always a source of new sounds that musicians could use to expand the range of possibilities for making music."
