Is there anyway to boost the master output firewire level? With the hardware knob on the mixer maxed out it only outputs to like -7db in traktor scratch pro, it would be nice if there was a way to turn the firewire master output volume up like in the input gain or something, rather than having to rely on the individual channel volume to boost it, or the recording level in TSP.

I appreciate that link. Apparently either there is something wrong with my mixer or the Korg Zero8 in general or a host of other things. I mean the levels that come from its firewire recording are absurd. Maybe its my cord. Maybe its a 100 different things or maybe It is just the way it is. Oh I miss the ez of analog days. I guess my best bet for recording from this thing is to use the master outputs on the back to some other recording device other than the computer. attempt to use the digital out of the 08 to my digital in on the computer sound card or buy a new mixer.

It might not be hooked up properly. Provide as much detail as you can about how you have them connected and then we might be able to help you to identify the specific point at which the problem is occurring. There's a lot of potential points along the signal path that can result in a low level at the mixer input channel. Photos are usually helpful, but at a minimum you need to provide all of the essential details, like the model of mixer and exactly how you've hooked it up, what kind of cables you're using, and how they've been patched. Everything from the signal source to the end point matters.

Its the korg Zero8 with a monster firewire cable plugged into my laptop mini firewire port. Then Its just routed through the software ableton live and or traktor scratch pro. In the mixer settings I have it set to send the master signal through one of the channels and then I select that channel in the software for recording, It records properly but the levels are low, and have to be extremely boosted in the software, after recording. It always results low recordings. I have tried to use the digital out and the levels are great, but have been doing some weird stuttering, which I haven;t looked into yet.
