I bought a non powering Zero 8 of Craigslist for $200 and paid a repair shop $350 to fix it. They replaced 75% of the power supply with beefier parts. Now i have a few questions.

1. I am getting a firewire card for my Windows desktop PC. Will any firewire card work or should I look for one with a certain chipset?

2. what's the best version of Windows to run? Windows XP Windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit?

3. The touchscreen works when I use the eq and FX but nothing happens when I go into the setup mode. is there something else I have to do?

Congrats man! I love this mixer, and I feel its one of the best things you can have for the new style of djing and production. Just too bad they abandoned it.

I would think any fire card would work, but I use one with texas instruments chipset and have never had any issues.

I run windows 7 64 bit, no issues ever. 64bit is where you want to be.

If the efx are working, then the setup should be working.
try to upgrade the firmware, or downgrade it and do a master reset.

it may need some settling, a fan on it, or some people have had to replace the lcd, I've read.

Thanx I ordered a StarTech 4-Port PCI 1394a FireWire Card (PCI1394MP). It has a Texas instruments chipset. I will install Windows 7 64 bits., I will report pack when I get everything setup.
