Love ProTools! |
Hello Smurf.
I still do not undertend does 64bit makes plugins to be more effisient CPU wise or it is just passing 4gb limit of memory? some people say that 64bit vs 32 bit is more effisient CPU vise so don't? who is right? _________________ https://слово-божье.рф

Hi Penguin!
64-bit is all about data -- it's like having a longer & wider fire hose. It doesn't speed the CPU itself. It does allow plug-ins to access more data themselves & also the mix bus to be more precise (tho, I'm not sure if the mix bus can be set above 32-bit floating points).
More specifically for Protools 11:
- You can now open bigger sessions.
- Offline bouncing is way faster -- a mere seconds even for complicated mixes.
- Faster plug-in instantiating -- project is ready to play faster.
Can't wait to gt my hands on it! _________________ E.L.T - Band Project

Go ahead and upgrade to ProTools 11. Though, remember that none of your RTAS plug ins are going to work with ProTools 11 anymore. Even some older audio interfaces are no longer compatible. The good news is that Protools 10 & 11 can coexist on the same computer, so you can always finish up your projects in ProTools 10. _________________ Sam
