Feedback/ringing type of sound when loading external styles. I just was loading Styles - Volume 13 from the Korg PA Bonusware site and noticed a problem that I experienced loading some 3rd party stuff at another time.

When playing some of these styles a ringing (like a cymbal that keeps going or the feedback that you could put in a delay starts to occur. It keeps on going for a while and stays there even when you change styles.

I shut off the reverb as it was happening and that had no affect.

Has anyone experienced this or know why it might be happening? I believe set 13 is from the Pa 800.

btw...I loaded the styles with Global protected to prevent any weird things like this from happening...

It sounds like some of those styles are corrupted (bad). you should be able to select and move those offending styles to a spare folder on your computer. Then you can load them later (if you wish), to see if the same problem occurs.

Thanks, I will try that! Should I load sets from keyboards like Pa3x, Pa 800, Pa 2x and PA 1x or just styles? Do I need to have the global protect on or will it be okay to load global parameters as well (I think those are in sets?)

I never load global parameters from other keyboards.

I had similar problem with the microarranger and a distorted sound will come from all outputs, with styles, sounds anything

could do nothing but return the keyboard

that I know of...I only use the styles. I wonder if this possibly is something that Korg is aware of and that will be addressed in a software update? Someone in another thread mentioned that a software update is coming.

Within the package 13 are only styles - nothing more - i checked it this morning. You´ve to be aware of what´s inside the *.SET folders - if it´s only a STYLE folder than it´s ok - if it´s more - maybe you shouldn´t load it.

PA800 is not able to load styles from PA3X (or not all) - due to the fact that PA3X use some other modes for the styles PA2x and PA800 doesn´t have.
