Hello Sv-1 users

I managed today to get full Midi Assignment control up and running in Cubase 5 with corresponding names.

I can now change the sound presets and run program changes on the Korg SV-1 from Cubase 5.

The midi plugin I have created is written from scratch.

I do not know if I am aloud to send this XML file as appendix into the forum so you can export it directly into your own system.

If Korg want this XML file so you can send it to Steinberg so it can be implemented as a patch I will of course send you this XML file by email.

If not I will post a guide tomorrow on how to create it yourself.

NOTE: Operating System is Windows 7 64-bit service-pack 1

Hello a follow up of my previous post.

I am currently researching a work around to implement Korg SV-1 the XML data file as a plugin into Cubase 5 I have created and have found a easy way around it.

I will post a follow up on how to proceed after testing it myself.

Hello again and sorry for my late answer

This is how to do it.

Enter Midi Device Manager.

Install New Device
Enter appropriate name [in my case(Korg SV-1)]
Select identical channels 1 to 16
Check off
Channel Parameters, Volum, Modulation, Aftertouch, Pan, Sustain, Pitchbend
and Sysex Param.

After pressing ok, you will have 16 midi channels with appropriate functions to each channel.

Then go to pulldown box Device
Choose Patch Banks
Check off ENABLE EDIT

Got to pulldownbox Command, (was grey, should now light up)
Choose Create Bank and Double click on New Bank choose a logical name
in our case Korg SV-1
Then right click on Korg-SV1 (create Bank folders first)
Select New Folder

E Piano 1
E Piano 2
Clav
Piano
Organ
Other
Favorites

You have now created main Banks!

Now we are going to connect the programs to the corresponding Banks
Go to E Piano 1
Then right click onto the name Bank, select New Preset
Double click on Preset call it E Piano 1
Value is 0 (Zero)
Valid Range is 0-127
Midi Message Bytes C0 0
Same procedure for next preset E Piano 2 exept this one has value 1
next 2 (E Piano 3)
next 3 (E Piano 4) etc etc etc
Last bank on Favorites has value 43

When you are done you have 6 presets connected to each bank
in a beatyful tree structure.

When you exit the editor, connect your Midi device to you midi soundcard, Focusrite pro 40 or similiar.

Now go to dropdown menu: Devices
Select VST Connections
Choose External Instruments
Add External then Associate Midi Device in this case Korg Sv-1
Select corresponding Audio Device, port, and it ought to be an X on used
_when_ it is tied _into a Music Project and only then.
When you close a project it should be freed.

Now create or enter a musicproject
Project add track, instuments select external instum...
> Korg Sv-1

When it pops up

It will display in preset bank default off
Select the program selector and voila you now have access to all your presets and can do manual programchanges from Cubase or automate it through programchange feature.

Play a few notes and you will see Midi Send and Return being displayed in the Cubase Transport Panel.

The project file will ofcourse remember the saved state of this plugin
if l save and leave the Korg Sv-1 at Favorite 4, it will when you start it up again ofcourse start with this preset.

I use the SV-1 as master keyboard and l have no trouble what so ever, it works very well.

If there is a typo here or you think it is to difficult let me know coz, l can link it out to my dropbox and will do it within this month, just going to go over some security stuff so l do not get hacked in the same process.
