Hi,

Just want to check with you guys what programs you used to convert Midi files to MP3. Or is there a way to save files as MP3 after you record a style in the sequencer?

Hi.- I don't know if there is any program that can make that job.-
To convert MIDI to MP3 i use 2 programs.- First, Virtual Sound Canvas V 3.2 by Roland, wich converts *.MID to *.WAV.- After that i use Adobe Audition 2 or 3 to convert and process WAV to MP3.- The results are excellent, and both programs are too easy to use.-
Virtual Sound Canvas V 3.2 lets you modify any parameter of MIDI files, such as volume, panpot, instruments, transposition, chorus, reverb, and delay for each of 16 channels.- Roland is the best producer of GM sets with a maximum poliphony of 128.-
Adobe Auditon lets you make any audio changes on WAV, because is a really professional audio processor.-

What is said above will work for you! As long as you have the understanding that MIDI files are Not Audio files... and hence cannot be "converted" to MP3. MP3 files are Audio files.

Essentially what you want to do, is record your MIDI tracks (Audible/sound signals). Do you have a PC/laptop/sound recorder...etc. I use Cakewalk Sonar (for example). What resources do you have access to?

Thanks for your responses guys. These looks too technical for me as all I want to do really is to be able to convert to MP3 just so I can have it in my music library and on to my iPods. Maybe a little bit of overdubbing of some tracks. So what i did for now is record it to my Tascam LR-10 recorder as a Wav file then convert it to MP3.

I use Audacity (a free audio recording program) on my PC and output MP3 with it. Very straightforward.

MIDI FILE > PA600 > (audio) > PC (Audacity) > MP3 file

Isn't it possible to do this all on the keyboard itself?
I would assume, you press play on the midi file, and then do shift+record to record mp3 off the keyboard.

Does the pa600 not have mp3 recording?
