|
|
Hi,
I'm quite a noob with hardware synthesizers and bought the KingKorg a couple of weeks ago. I am now trying to use it with Reason 7, but it seems that whenever I try to do a program change, I get weird results.
My last attempt was to create 3 automation lanes on the external MIDI instrument, one for CC#0, one for CC#32 and one for program change. Since Reason documentation states that it only sends midi control codes when values change, I start with random high values for those parameters, then change the value to the one I want, starting by CC#0, followed by CC#32 and finally program change. It seems like by doing this sequence, the program changes does not get registered by the KK. I tried a couple of variations on the sequence with always unsatisfying results. The only thing that seems to work is if I change the value directly on the external midi rack device itself, then KK does the change.
Anyone with a both KK and Reason 7 succeeded reliably to perform program changes? Care to share your recipe?
Thanks in advance |

Hi, I found your message, because I have also strange "program change" issues.
I'm a new owner of the KingKorg and I have also a Korg Kronos.
I would like to do program changes via midi, but the KK doesn't listen to these midi events (no bankchange and no program change).
I checked the global: program and bank change are enabled.
I've tried both program and favorites mode.
Is there anything else I should check? _________________ admin of Kronoshaven.com and Tritonhaven.com |

I'm a bit further; it seems that the KK doesn't listen to wrong (or not-existing) bank changes. So when a wrong bank is selected it doesn't do anything, selecting a program that is.
Now my next investigation:
how to access the programs above prog 127.
I guess I have to use the correct MSB and LSB values. Time to read the parameter guide now... _________________ admin of Kronoshaven.com and Tritonhaven.com |
