No sorry, all input/output is handled by PCG files. It is on the wish list but it is not easy to make (specifically because I only own a certain amount of Korg workstations, and Trinity is not one of them).

O, that's a pity, but who nows what the future brings!

True ... as soon as I have more time I will add features, however a lot of other items are already on the list.

i've read all the posts. has anyone had positive results using this program? i admit, i only glanced at screen shots. it appears to have many options. is it exclusive for trinity? there seemed to be many posts that indicate this is the wrong forum for this. seems that the main thing people are looking for is a patch editor. especially for the TR-Rack if they dont own a regular keyboard for editing.

as far as organizing patches and PCG's, i thank god every day for Trinitro. i dont have any floppy drives on any of my computers. the only thing i would really need one, is to load the OS. luckily, once you have an OS loaded you shouldn't have to do it again. so Trinitro can send and recieve through midi and have the programs you want.

does PCG Tools show associations of single patches that make up a Combi patch? i think there would be more feedback if people didnt have to subscribe just to try it. i see so many posts on this program from the developer, and nothing from Trinity users saying it even works, at any level.

is Trinitro open source? it's so simple and easy to use. exclusive to Trinity. seems would be easier to enhance it rather than use what seems to be a complicated program like PCG tools. unless someone has had luck with it. i dont want to have to subscribe, then not like it. i dont understand all the hype on this forum. i'm not sure it even does what Trinitro can do.

I am the creator of the application so maybe my opinions are subjective.

However, the program is downloaded by over 2,100 people (actively subscribed to the newsletter).

The program is not exclusively for Trinity, actually it is equal for a series of Korg workstations like Kronos, Oasys, M50, M3, Triton, Trinity, Karma, Krome (and soon Kross). Only some features (like set lists) are only for the Korg Kronos.

The app works perfectly for Trinity (and others too). However, if I would have known there were so less Trinity users, I probably would not have used my development time for it. It can easily be shown that it works, by opening a PCG file from Trinity, loading/changing it to the computer and load it in to your Trinity.

It is not a pach editor (well you can edit a few parameters), but it is mostly a librarian/analysis tool (e.g. to find out which programs uses which combis etc).

The reason PCG Tools is not open source is that it contains code that is based on documentation under NDA. Otherwise I gladly would make it open source. However, the application is 100% free (however, a donation is very appreciated). I spend about 2,000 hours creating it.

Subscribing to the newsletter and install the app takes you about 5 minutes probably. I created a very big manual, but you of course can just start using it without reading everything.

Please let me know how your experience is.

As you know I have annoyed all of you with the password protected zip file for PCG Tools. The main reason was to have a way to make sure everybody got the latest version by using the subscription model.

However, I'm going to change this. Subscribing will still be possible and has benefits, but it is not necessary anymore. The benefit is you get automatically an email when a new version is published or for important communication regarding PCG Tools. The next version I hope to launch in January.

Please always download the latest version through http://pcgtools.mkspace.nl, because only on that website you can assure you have the latest (and virus free) version.

A message for subscribers: in case you don't like the subscription method, you can unsubscribe if you want (losing the notifications of course). Currently there are over 2,300 subscribers, so I want to thank you for that. However, I cannot send any mails for free until the subscribers reach below 2,000. But please don't unsubscribe en masse lol. If in January there will still be more than 2,000 subscribers, I will maybe manually removing the latest subscribers. Sorry for this inconvenience. To get PCG Tools until the next release, you still need to subscribe.

And of course I wish you a happy christmas and enjoy the holiday.

New website: As of today the new website layout is launched at http://pcgtools.mkspace.nl/ . For you the most important is that the password has been removed. Also more information is shown and the information is split into several pages. In the future, I hope to add more useful information whenever necessary. Enjoy the site!.

Because of the password removal, the subscription to the newsletter to acquire the password is not mandatory anymore. However, there still is a benefit: you will get email notifications when a new version is there. However, on the downside, there are currently 2,400 subscribers and due to the Mail client I am using I cannot send any emails when there are more than 2,400 subscribers. So for those who do NOT want to have email notifications, please unsubscribe from the newsletter list ( http://eepurl.com/u5Hk5 ). When I want to release the next version of PCG Tools and there are still over 2,000 subscribers, I will remove anyone above 2,000 to be able to reach as many users as possible. Sorry for this inconvenience.

PCG Tools 2.0.0 is released. You can download the application for free as usual at http://pcgtools.mkspace.nl.

What is new?

Virtual banks for the Korg Kronos and the MS2000 (see the Virtual Bank files to be downloaded on the website). With these files, you can store 50 program and 50 combi banks, so you can keep all your patches together in one location. Of course you cannot use them directly on your synthesizer, however you can copy from/to that file like a big storage box. And if you need more than one file, just fill another Virtual Banks file.

PCG Tools does not support only PCG files anymore. For the Korg MS2000, microSTATION, microKORG, microKORG XL and microKORG XL Plus a variety of files can be loaded and managed.

Also Greek language has been added thanks to Dadanos.

Besides that the Set List Generator has been rearranged so it looks better (I hope).

Last but not least a lot of small improvements and bug fixes.

Kind regards,

Michel, developer of PCG Tools

See below the complete list:

Code:

2.0.0      22-Mar-2014  Support : Added support for Korg microStation PCG files.

Support : Added support for Korg microKORG XL .mkxl_all files.
