Hi folk,
I was interested in creating some evolving & strongly rhythmic atmospheric sounds, like in the CSI crime-lab scenes. I'm not sure I quite achieved that, but here are 34 patches I came up with. They're all tempo-synced, but some work better at fairly slow "atmospheric" tempos as they're quite "busy". Pads, layered synths, split bass/keys etc. - lots of LFOs modulating the oscillator controls & filter.
Download available as a zip file here: http://www.jazzman-ltd.co.uk/blog/rhythmically-evolving-patch.html
These are pure SysEx files you can send to your KingKorg individually using your DAW or any SysEx librarian.
Hope you enjoy them!
Richard.
PS: Add the arpeggiator on one (or both) layers if you want even more movement! |

Somewhere in the global parameter menu there might be a parameter to en- and disable patch overwriting protection. Try to disable the protection, maybe that will solve your problem. |

Hello,
I'm using the KingKorg sound librarian which does not accept SysEx files...
What is the best SysEx librarian for Windows 7?
Or, do you have the file in the *.kklib KingKorg sound librarian format?
Thanks,
Alejandro.- _________________ RETURN without GOSUB |

I can't for the life of me figure out how to send these to my KingKorg.
Global ->g12 Common: Protect = Off
Global ->g27: Midi Filter: SysEx = Enable
Yet when I send the sysex files, nothing seems to happen.
I can twiddle the knobs and see messages flowing back and forth. I can trigger notes from my pc. As far as I can tell, all the midi data is flowing normally.
The KingKorg librarian program can communicate just fine.
Is there some trick to sending these? |

I figured it out, after examining the sysex files in MidiOx and looking at page 38 of the PG guide, where it says:
3n [n=0–F] MIDI channel
...and the third byte in all the files is 34, meaning "Midi Channel 5"
If I change Global: g16: Global Ch to 5, it works.
Upshot: You need to set your global channel to 5 to send these. |
