Not that it is worth anything as I am a guitar player and this is my first keyboard, I wanted to give my opinion on the mS one year after owning it and see other's reaction.
Bottom line: Great value for the money. So much functionality and great sounds built into a small and affordable device.
As a guitar player and home recording hobbyist, I purchased this because I wanted a small 61-key keyboard to augment my guitar tracks with other instruments and not tax the DAW on my older computer with multiple VSTis. I also wanted to learn some keyboard playing and music theory.
That said, I had a hard time choosing between the mS and the mA. Happy, but still not sure if I picked the right choice. The best one for my application was confusing.
I have used the mS to easy add and sequence drums, piano, organ, strings and more to my tracks. Great fun!
That said, if buying another keyboard I think I would look for the following functions (do they exist? which keyboards?).
- Sound AND midi data can be input into the daw via a VSTi that controls the keyboard.
- A second software program. I like the deep dive editor but it is a bit overwhelming. Keep it. But add a second one that is easier.
For non-keyboard players or new ones, complex keyboards such as these are well, complex, and do need a commitment of time to get the most out of them with quick work flow.
Anyway, thanks for listening. mS is a great keyboard for the value. If you were to spend around the sae money today, would you get the mS again or another keyboard?
Oh, one last question, anyone have recommendations for a great used older rack mounted sound generator to research for purchase? Do the quality and number of sounds in our mS exceed older rack mount systems? |

I thing Yamaha Motif Rack will be the great companion for the MS. _________________ Work Hard; Play Hard ! |

Hi
You should try the PA600, it is a good arranger.
For a sound module look at the Roland XV 5080 or similar
