I just bought the SV1 and am running windows 8 with a Focusrite Scarlett 2x4 with ableton Live 9. I had a rough time getting my keyboard to be recognized by the workstation. After trying several usb ports uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and Java rte, I went with the pin style midi cable to the Focusrite. Success! although SV1 Editor still did not bring up anything but the blank backup screen. The usb cable I was using worked fine with my M-Audio keyboard. When I switched out the usb cable Editor now works as likely does the usb midi connection. I never realized the cables could be so fickle.
