Hi there,

Got a message on my iPad Air that ios 8 is ready to download. Was wondering if anyone's had a try on the new latest version, or even the beta one, and has no issues with korg apps and so forth. I should assume not but still Very Happy

I haven't tried yet but some apps already updated. Not the Korg apps. As general advice I would say wait a few weeks to see if they update.

Gadget starts up okand also appears in audiobus so all seems fine, i haven't tried to do much with it though.

Korg have said they are testing and will give timescales for updates

I have tried the following and they both crash on startup in ios8

iMS20
iEletribe

It took several months for many apps to get upgraded from iOS 6 to 7 so I would expect the same this time around. I don't see any compelling reason to upgrade immediately so I'll wait until year end.

This update is the least attractive update I have ever seen from Apple.

"Let your health and fitness apps communicate with each other, with your trainer, and even with your doctor."? And then some day with the insurance company or the government? Or "Welcome to the National Security Agency"???
No thanks.

Pay with their new system to make each buy immediately transparent for total control by the wrong people as well?
No thanks.

Sync your data immediately via inbuilt iCloud? Do I look like I completely lost my mind, along with any sense for security and privacy?
No thanks.

The few smart things like spotlight, and keyboard use finally on Android level, are not really worth upgrading and getting into trouble with lots of unapdated apps. My iPhone and iPad will stay on iOS7 as long as possible!

As of 10/04/14 I can confirm that these apps do not even start with iOS 8.0.2 ...

iPolysix
iMS-20

These apps start and play although I have not done extensive testing at this point...

Gadget
iKaossilator

Other non Korg apps I have that seem to work so far are ...

Animoog
Thor
Nave
Z3TA+
SECTOR

Questionable ...

Audiobus with GarageBand ... It gives Audiobus initialization error and disables it. I have not done other audiobus testing.

Notes...

I don't see any compelling reason for musicians to upgrade to iOS 8 at this point. There is nothing right now that will make you say WOW. If you have critical apps wait for confirmation that they work before upgrading.

Korg already stated before the iOS 8 release that they were working on compatibility issues with all their apps. So far Gadget is the only one that's been updated and it works great as ever. The rest will follow.

iMS-20 just got an update and what a great one it is with a long overdue bug fix for the panel zoom crashing issue. Also SoundCloud session browsing is no longer erroring out every other blink of the eye. Late as crap on that one but thanks to them nevertheless.

Update: Since I've posted this Gadget also got another post-iOS8 update so I guess start looking for the rest of the apps to start rolling in. They indicated they submitted them all to the App Store so hopefully they'll all hit here soon.

Yes, just seen it in the App Store: IMS-20 IOS 8 COMPATABLE
iPolysix: IOS 8 COMPATABLE.

Fixed crash during start up. And bug fixes. I ""May"" have a look at ios 8.0.2 now, but not just yet(!). They're the only korg apps I have at this time.

Off topic, does anyone recommend/rate caustic 3 ? I've got that on my Samsung galaxy note 10.1. It sounds very good with lots of synths etc. Lags a little though on the android latency, but not too bad on kitkat update. Wondering wether to get it on ipad. .

Tony. (Thanks korg)

Caustic 3 is great on iPad Air and iPhone 6. Since it has such a small CPU footprint I would think it would run well on older hardware as well. If you know it from Android you won't notice a difference except lack of latency Smile. MIDI functions work well. It also can sit in the input or output slots in AudioBus. I really like it.

Just updated iMS-20 and iPolysix. They both seem to be working fine now with iOS 8.

One more (undocumented) thing: You can finally delete user samples in the new Gadget.
