What is the smallest, most readily available Korg workstation capable of playing Extreme .sng and .ksc files, saved on Sandisk 2gB compact flash.
So I can do air travel without my 35kg Extreme 76-key and case?
Thanks.
David

SNG files are not transferable between synths. You'd need an actual Triton and probably an Extreme specifically. E.g. my Triton Extreme and Karma MW couldn't read each others SNG files even though they're both based on Triton architecture. PCG files are compatible within the entire Triton series. KSC files are compatible with KORG synths in general although you'd have to rebuild the actual programs from the multisamples if you can't use the PCG.

Possibly you could export your SNG files as individual midi (SMF) files per song and use those?

Thanks.
Pity. Now that I think back to when I went from Classic to Extreme, the.sng files were readable but sounded sometimes very odd, depending on how many of the names of the timbres from the Classic were different from the Extreme's. I updated them but it was tedious. It encouraged me to get rid of some junk.
I'll try the thing with saving as a Std Midi file to a compact flash. Or do any of the newer models use flash cards. What would be a nice workstation to try that out on?

A USB stick would be easier, doesn't the T-EX use those? I forget...

Yes it does. An Extreme can do practically anything.
