|
|
Hi,
I've so far just used my microKorg to play around with creating sounds, and am using it for the first time on stage in a few weeks.
When practicing, I've noticed that it's very slow to move between patches that are on different banks, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to move my favourite patches around so that I can switch between them very quickly? |

Hi,
On the mK, the fastest way to random access your favourite patches to group them within one bank. That way, you can quite quickly change between 8 favourite patches, using the program number buttons. You can also consider to use on top of that the bank side key, which doubles your number of favourite patches, but sometimes you need an extra button press.
So how to reorder them? I would hook the mK on a PC and use the Sound Editor to first download your created sounds to the PC. They end up in a 'library' of 128 patches. You can then reorder them there. Finally you download the new 'library' back to the board.
On board there is also a possibility to copy timbres. Note, this is slow and not handy to reorder patches and error prone. On top of that, it is per timbre. Some patches may have 2 timbres, so you need to do it twice in that case and first make sure that your destination patch is in the same mode as your source patch (single/multi mode or 1/2 timbres).
Have fun. _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK

You also can use the free program PCG Tools to move your patches around (if you receive/send a sysex file). _________________
