Can't seem to find how to edit a drum kit in Triton like on m3 and Kronos. Are drums not in Global?

I'm pretty sure they are/were on my Extreme. The Triton doesn't have the Kronos' tab system, I guess you've tried all the pages using the menu button?

Yeah, user kits are in global.

You have to press global and then the edit button to bring up the appropriate sub-menu pages, otherwise global (alone) gets you a very basic menu (no drums).

Once you're at the drum kit menu you should be able to edit and save user kits with no problem since you're already doing it on M3/Kronos -- push a key, assign a sample, next key - next drum, repeat.

[I've found it useful to make kits of just one drum type, especially of relatively subtle samples like shakers, clicks, cabasa, etc. These can work with any rhythmic or melodic arpeggio to give you a nice low-key, chill/new age pulse when you don't want the usual thud-like 4x4 that makes up so much of Triton's repertoire.]

For "normal" kits the best approach is probably just save & swap (make a copy and substitute): Save any current kit as a starter template, then substitute existing samples with new/similar drums -- bass for bass, snare for snare, etc. Most of the outlying percussion will already be done and shouldn't really have to change (bongos are still bongos); this way drum arps should still sound "correct" when you apply them to the new user kit.

Keep in mind that you'll need to assign the new drum kit (sample series) to a user program before you'll be able to hear it or use it in a combination.

Here's another tip that is seldom mentioned.

Drum arpeggios are included in the .pcg files for EXB expansion boards -- these are posted here under the Triton download archives.

These drum arpeggios work with most of the stock kits, since the maps are very similar for all the triton kits.

You can fill in the "user" arp slots with new drum arps and inject some new life into the classic and studio, regardless of whether you have the EXB's installed.

And, for the studio and triton rack, I believe there is sufficient arp storage to essentially clone all of the arps found in the Triton Extreme.
