Hello everyone. This is my first post in this forum.
I have recently bought a Triton Classic, and I'm trying to figure out how to use the drum kits. My problem is that I want to create a drum kit using GM sounds, or to be more specific, to rearrange the order of the keys in one of the GM drum kits. I'm reading the manual for Triton Studio (I guess it's more or less the same) and it says:

"GM drum kits 144 (GM) – 152 (GM) cannot be selected here. (It is not possible to edit or write a GM drum kit.) If you wish to modify the settings of one of the drum kits 144 (GM) – 152 (GM), you can use “Copy Drum Kit” to copy it to 000 (I-A/B) – 143 (User), and then edit the copy."

The problem is that I can't find the way to actually OPEN them so I can copy them. When I open the menu I only get kits 00-63, of which none is GM.

Anyone knows how to deal with this?

I'm not absolutely sure, but I don't think you have to open a kit to copy.

Check the pull down menu at the upper right of the drum kit edit menu and see if there's a "copy drum kit" button.

If there is, then pushing it would bring up a location that should show all drum kits, including the GM kits as candidates for copying. They cannot be saved AS alternative GM kits, only as user kits -- as such, opening one to edit it (even if you plan to save to a user location) is not allowed.

As an alternative, if you know the drums you want to use in the remapping, you may be able to find those individual GM drum waves when selecting sounds at the key level -- admittedly way slower than an auto copy, but perhaps close to as fast since you were going to edit key locations anyway after copying. It might even save you step, especially since you would not be swapping sounds (switch this and that) but overwriting them. If I were doing it I'd expect to have to spend some time figuring out the order of swap so as not to lose any sounds.

Can you share your reason for this -- trying to match a Roland or Emu drum map for existing sequences?
