|

like user nmattson in the 'Found any good sequencers for the Beats' threat:
I've tried several app--funkbox, Nord Beats 2, DM-1--and all of them do not work properly. The Volca Beats only outputs monophonically if I try to sequence from any of them. If I use the pads, though, the Volca is polyphonic.
I found this out now too! The midi channel and note numbers are correct. But when sounds double only one of them is played.
wtf? Who would have expected this!?
or rather, who has a solution for this?
is this only with ios apps?
how strange...
Things looked rather nice for sequencing with Nordbeats ios. At first that was...
edit: I just tested on another high end usb to midi cable. same results. |

That seems really strange. I have mine connected to Ableton with a relatively cheap MIDI/USB cable and don't have this problem at all. I can actually sequence notes both from my DAW and on the machine itself at the same time.
Things that might be worth checking:
- Have you installed the most recent system update (OS 1.02)?
- Is the Volca being powered by batteries or an adapter. Low/moderate battery power could be causing something screwy with sound engine.
- Try clearing a pattern first, saving it, then using that as a starting point.
- Refer to the manual to check to see if the "MIDI RX" option is enabled.
- The "stutter" effect retriggers notes, so try setting it to 0 Depth and see if it has the same problem.
- Also try disabling "Global Stutter" if not being used. _________________ Roland Juno-60, SH-101, TR-606, MC-505, Casio CZ-101, Yamaha DX100, DX11, Kawai R-50e // Korg R3, microSTATION, Monotribe, MS-20 Mini, SQ-1, minilogue, electribe sampler, Volca series: Bass, Keys, Beats, Sample, FM, Kick, Moog Theremin |

hi, and thanks for your concern.
I have tried all of the above except for the system update. I think i am still one version lower.
The lights of respectivly Kick and Snare on Volca Beats do not light up when the problem arises. So it is not a problem in the audio- but rather in the midi domain. That's why I had some hopes for the Midi RX setting but no luck there.
I will do the update tommorow.
thanks again
