|

So after crossing the initial threshold of the Electribe, and making music on it that's starting to sound good, it occurs to me that it actually sounds pretty damn good when you're finding the good combos with the sound editing features that are there.
Which leads me to believe - yes, we're limited in features as to what we can do with the sounds in terms of design, but what's in there, sounds good. So the engine feels quite powerful once you dip into it.
Seeing as the architecture of the synth seems quite open, I'm getting a plug-out vibe from it like the Aira series, isn't it just possible that Korg plans to unlock more options for us once they've got their stuff sorted?
There's one thing what the interface allows us to do now. It's another what the engine is capable of.
I'm just getting the feeling that the Electribe's limitations isn't so much in what it can do, but what Korg lets us do with it right now. |

Korg has been notoriously tight-lipped about the future of the Electribe 2. There's been some buzz on this forum about "big news" for the E2, but nothing confirmed. IIRC, Mistabishi tweeted about the E2 becoming "the most customizable synth ever," but later deleted the tweet.
I think Korg may have something up their sleeves. The seamless iPad integration has me hopeful for a companion iPad app, perhaps one that offers more control over sound editing and effects, alternate ways of sequencing (a usable step sequencer, an actual arp, or even song mode could be implemented this way.) Maybe we'll have the option the swap out the existing PCM sounds or purchasing new sound packs.
Of course, this is all wishful thinking, but Korg has been fond the iOS platform in recent years, more so than any other hardware company. I'm sure they've also taken into consideration what Roland is offering with the Aria line. But then again, it's Korg. Maybe they'll just release another instructional dance app. _________________ KORG Electribe 2, Volca Keys, Volca Sample, Gadget |

Well, nothing revealed at DanceFair 2015. So we'll wait for Messe, then. |
