hi,
Recently I got a used kaoss pad 2 and use a step down converter to fit the voltage in my country.
I get a loud buzz/hum when touching the pad and suspect the power supply.
I measured it and it seems it's not regulated. Shouldn't be 12 volt regulated? The power supply is the original one, but I don't know if the step down ac converter affect the current. |

Never mind, got an old stabilized 12V power supply and it's working.
PS. I think kp2 has better quality effects than the kp3 I had in the past! |

Hi korakios,
I am interested in your opinion more. Is there many good NON-tempo synced Delays that can slur pitch like an old (tape) speed/time modulation.
What else do you like about it? |

Hi Spheric El,
It's been over 3years since I sold my kp3 and I haven't yet jamm with my new kp2. Only quick test to see if everything is fine and quick pass thru effects...Fist impression was it had more definition and clarity overall . Synth effects are way better and more atmospheric I'll try it today and post some more thoughts.
PS. I sold my kp3 in the past cause the 4 sample playback/recording was pointless since sound stopped if I save or load a sound to/from sd card.
plus the effect engine applies to all samples (no way to bypass a single sample), so it didn't worth the price.
kp2 or kaoss pad quad seems better value for money. |

I have a KP2, KP3, and KP3+. In all reality, all the FX sound pretty much the same, it's just that the KP3 and KP3+ have more fx, sampling abilities, and look a lot nicer. All mine are daisy-chained together, and I use the KP2 for just delays at this point. _________________ Radioactive Sandwich

Still think that kp2 have more defined less "muddy" fx. All the delays are nice but as a digital one ,they can't emulate the feedback madness of an analog.
Still better than some line6 delays ,but on my sp606 sampler the delays sounds darker but much richer....
And the vocoder on kp2 is miles ahead than the kp3...but I miss the talk filter on kp3... |

Appreciated @korakios & @radioactivesandwich .
So the 2 has a touch filter? Always felt that was missing .
Does it have much in the way of "smooth delay" ie non tempo synced? as the KP3 always pops and squeeks the same way when times are changed -but I would prefer a more musical pitch change -half speed an octave lower etc.
Old fashion modulated delay. |
