Hi,
The Oberheim Matrix 1000 is an interesting Synth.
Unfortunately the synth just has an Mono Output...
Is there a possibility to tune up ( maybe with an external equipment)
Any experience? _________________ Love and peace to everyone

No way I know of to get true stereo image.
However, you could run the mono signal into a stereo FX (since signal processing is missing from the Matrix anyway) and get either stereo output from FX like stereo delay or, more likely, a dry vs. wet mix.
Using FX like detune, delay, chorus, phase, flange, etc. you might, in small increments, be able to give the illusion of a stereo signal when comparing/combining the dry (zero FX) and wet (100% FX) signals.
Splitting the mono signal and running one side through an aural exciter might provide you with sufficient differences in harmonic content to sound like a stereo output.

There is nothing inside the Matrix 1000 that makes it sensible to have a stereo output. "True stereo" means that both signals are actually different and represent the left and right side of a sound. For instance when you mic and record an acoustic grand piano with two mics pointed to the bass and treble sides. Very very few analog synths have anything in them that makes the signal stereo and when they do, it's most often a chorus/ensemble effect like on the PolySix or Juno.
As for the Matrix 1000, the signal from the oscillators goes through a single filter and amp path. Creating a second output would basically give you twice the same sound, which is the same as the one sound panned center and played twice as loud. As Bill said, you could add various outboard fx to try to create a wider stereo image. But if you're recording, I would probably do this in the computer after the fact, unless you have something specific like a Boss/Roland CE-1 stereo chorus. |

I just mean a stereo enhancer to bring more sound out of the Matrix. Maybe my little opinion is that two outs sound better than a mono sound....
But thank you for your suggestions... _________________ Love and peace to everyone

Look for an older Aphex Aural Exciter. The Type B is good, but the C is better, and the Type C with Big Bottom is better yet. Any of these can be had for most likely under $100.00.
They use frequency-dependent phase manipulation, high frequency harmonic synthesis, and Dynamic Equalization to subtly enhance the sound. It works awesomely on voices as well.
That should give you some shimmer on the sound.
