So, amongst all the doom and gloomers saying how the sound engine, the workflow or countless other things mean it's impossible to use the e2 in a live setting, I finally took mine out live last night. Using it as the main controller for 5 other synths. Oddly enough, nobody complained about the sound quality, indeed a few people took time out to tell me how crisp and clean the sound was. The e2 behaved impeccably, and did its job making far fewer errors than the person operating it did. _________________ 01/WFD - M3 - MS-20 - Volca Bass - Volca Beats - Volca Keys - electribe emx2 - Monotron - KP3+ - iPad with too many Korg apps

Do you seriously expect us to believe that it sounded good? It only has 4 bars! I heard the EMX has 8 bars, so it sounds twice as good.
I bet every time you changed patterns, there was a full minute of silence followed by loud static and popping with sparks shooting from the headphone jack. Just like grandma always said, you simply can't use the e2 live. _________________ www.soundcloud.com/astrospy |

T3k .. Frenzies was probably using other synths to do the transitions. you can do a one bar song on this machine if you know how. 4 bars is not limit ...I.v seen YouTube videos with cool 2 bar performance.
So say if e2 crashes he frenzies would fill in with other synths .... One microbrute with a few pedals would do the job
Frenzies, if somebody took a video please post 2-3 minutes of it... 3 minutes is plenty to capture the atmohere there I'd love to see that...

Believe me Bladuck, the whole set was written on the e2, if it failed, I was left with a few lead lines on the MS20 and nothing else.
My way is to do it with as few pattern changes as possible, using mutes to make variations, but having said that it's still between 3 and 5 patterns per song, with the set being 8 songs long. Using external synths can mask the cut off that occurs between patterns on the e2, but some of it is done by trying to be clever about what's going on in pattern changes. All my patterns are 4 bars, because I need the time that 4 bars gives me to make tweaks to the external gear, I'm using 2 Volcas, a Microbrute and an MS20 so there's not much patch memory going on!
I've seen 3 videos from last night, but they are all only about 15 seconds long! _________________ 01/WFD - M3 - MS-20 - Volca Bass - Volca Beats - Volca Keys - electribe emx2 - Monotron - KP3+ - iPad with too many Korg apps
